Inside Out: A twenty-year dialogue with the child within becomes a book

andnp Corp. will publish Inside Out: Holding the Child Within — From Drop+Kiss…+ in April 2026.

The book is based on Drop+Kiss…+, the personal diary written by Nana Hinase over many years. It follows the life of one woman as she searched for the child within herself.

None of us can fully escape aging, illness, or the loss of someone important to us. This book follows the true story of a woman who, through such pain, continued to search for love and for something beyond herself.

Three Messages of This Book

Inside Out was written with three kinds of readers in mind.

1. For people who carry a child within, and for their families and partners

Nana Hinase lost sight of the child within herself through deep wounds from childhood. Drop+Kiss…+ is a twenty-year record of how she faced that loss and gradually came to hold that child within herself again.

Her words were written during days when she could not see the future, and when there seemed to be no clear way out. For people who are now living through a reality without easy answers, these words may become a chance to face themselves.

This book is not only for those who are suffering. It may also become a bridge of understanding and empathy for the families and partners who walk beside them.

2. For professionals in clinical practice and researchers in child psychology

There is growing social interest in themes such as the inner child and mental illness, and many studies have been published on these subjects. However, it is rare to have a record of about 10 million Japanese characters written by the person herself over twenty years.

This book is based not only on those diaries, but also on more than 700 pages of medical records obtained through disclosure requests with the author’s consent. These records include the details of medical consultations and counseling sessions, along with notes by physicians and clinical psychologists.

By using these materials as objective records, and by placing them together with the author’s own voice and narrative commentary, the book gives a layered view of one woman’s life.

It may serve as valuable primary material for clinical support, education, and research.

3. For those on a spiritual search

Nana Hinase’s life was not only a story of psychological recovery. It was also a search that reached into the deeper parts of the soul.

In recent years, the idea of post-traumatic growth, or PTG, has received more attention. It refers to the possibility that traumatic experiences may lead to inner growth. In the midst of pain and loss, Nana Hinase also went through a deep inner transformation.
