A nonfiction work encouraging reflection on one’s own life and dialogue with a partner for people preparing to welcome a new family member
andnp Corp. has begun introducing Inside Out: Healing the Inner Child — From Drop+Kiss…+ through waiting-room media for gynecology and maternity clinics in Japan.
The initiative presents the book through in-clinic digital signage, informational flyers, and placement of the physical book, creating opportunities for visitors to encounter the work during waiting time. The book is introduced as a work that encourages people preparing to welcome a new family member to reflect on their own life, their childhood family, the family they are about to build, and the dialogue they may share with their partner.
Inside Out is a narrative nonfiction work based on diaries and poems written over a period of twenty years. It documents the life of a woman who confronted childhood emotional wounds through psychological counseling. Combining her own words with editorial narration, the book explores the inner child, family, loss, self-understanding, and the process of recovery.
A gynecology or maternity clinic waiting room is not only a place where people wait for medical care. It is also a place where questions about the body, family, partnership, and the life ahead may quietly come into view. In this context, Inside Out is introduced as a book that may help readers look back on their own path and begin a conversation with someone close to them.
The visual material prepared for this initiative carries the message: “About who you have been. About the family from now on.” It presents the book as a twenty-year record of diaries and psychological counseling, supervised by a clinical psychologist. The flyer also includes QR codes for each volume, allowing interested readers to access further information directly.
At its center, Inside Out is not only a record of looking back on past wounds. It is also a book about listening to the voice within oneself and beginning a dialogue in order to live with others. Through this initiative, andnp Corp. hopes the book will become a quiet opportunity for people at a turning point in family life to reflect on themselves and their relationships with those close to them.
Please note that the doctors and specialists mentioned in the visual material are not affiliated with, and do not represent the views of, the medical institutions where the material is displayed.
